Hauenschild Ritter
1989-
Peter Hauenschild (1958, Linz, Austria) and Georg Ritter (1956, Linz, Austria) have produced work as an artist duo since 1989. They are known for their monumental pencil drawings, which often take several weeks to complete. Their work follows the tradition of pictorial realism and offers a precise and incisive perspective on current affairs, society and the environment. Due to the dense structure of lines, hatching and grids, the scenes initially appear to be photographs; on closer inspection, however, they are clearly recognisable as drawings.
